A Triathlete Who Showed Up
Ralph wasn’t training for a half marathon. He was deep in preparation for upcoming triathlon races when the Chicago Spring Half Marathon came up. He stepped in anyway — and delivered.
That’s the kind of athlete Ralph is. Not just someone who trains hard, but someone who backs it up when it counts. 13.1 miles through the streets of Chicago on his half marathon debut, and he made it look like he belonged there — because he did.
As Ryan put it: “Proud of the effort, the mindset, and the performance. This is only the beginning.”
Built for Triathlon. Ready for Anything.
Ralph came to Volt Endurance while gearing up for triathlon season. Ryan built his program around swim, bike, and run — a complete endurance base that doesn’t just prepare you for one race, it prepares you for all of them.
The half marathon wasn’t the goal. It was a byproduct of the work. When your aerobic base is dialed in and your running fitness is where it needs to be, 13.1 miles becomes a statement — not a stretch.
Chicago Spring Half Marathon
Race day in Chicago. 13.11 miles through the city, thousands of runners, and Ralph in bib #6136 — running his very first half marathon like it was just another training day.
He held a 9:18/mile pace from start to finish. Consistent. Controlled. No blowing up, no fading. He crossed the line in 2 hours and 2 minutes, medal in hand, with energy still on his face.
Half marathon debut. 13.11 miles. 2 hours and 2 minutes. 9:18 pace. And this wasn’t even his main event — triathlon season is still ahead.
Ralph showed up to a race he wasn’t specifically training for and finished strong. That’s what a complete endurance base looks like in the real world.
“Built different. Raced fearlessly. Finished strong. First one of many.”
Your Debut Is Next
Ralph’s story isn’t the exception — it’s what happens when you train with purpose. Whatever your first race is, let’s build you ready for it.
